To provide personalised support for individuals with invisible disabilities and building trusted relationships where our clients feels seen, heard, and supported whilst working towards their goals.
My Story
– From Georgie Our Founder
Over the last five years, and even more so since becoming a parent, I’ve become increasingly aware of how often people with invisible disabilities are overlooked, misunderstood, or left without the support they need. As a support worker for many years, I heard on all too many occasions, people comment to a client “but you look so well,” as if that was an indication that the client couldn’t possibly be struggling.
In addition to my time in the field, on a personal level, I have watched close family members navigate life with ADHD and autism, supported friends living with depression, and helped someone with a complex medical injury regain their independence – all of them facing challenges that haven’t been so obvious to the outside world.
With a background in healthcare, I felt I had something meaningful to offer in the disability sector. Founding Higher Living Homecare has given me the chance to support people with invisible disabilities in living fuller, more empowered lives.
